..2 july 2019..
What better way to kick off a fresh month than a 'Hanson in the Sun'. here ios 59102 'Village of Chantry' rolling down the straight towards Fairwood Junction at Masters Farm Crossing. The working being '7b12' the 11:23 away from Merehead going to Wootton Bassett with the daily delivery of aggregates.
..1 july 2019..
Oh well! at least I managed my regulation 'Hanson in the Sun' for the month of June! This is 59103 on the Frome Avoider about to pass under the Styles Hill road bridge working '7C77' the 12:40 from Acton-TC to Merehead.
..6 june 2019..
Berkley Marsh see's 'Village of Great Elm' 59104 with a long rake of boxes forming '7C64' the 15:27 from Acton-TC to Merehead.I wonder how long it will be after the autumn that this long lived livery gets wiped away with a coat of G&W Orange??
..23 may 2019..
A very smart looking 59104 'Village of Great Elm' runs through Berkley Marsh nr Frome in sparkling low evening lighting. It was working '7C64' the 15:27 from Acton-TC down to Merehead Quarry. No hoppers this evening, just boxes.
..20 may 2019..
59104 a 'Hanson in the Sun' passes Bratton with '7C77' the afternoon regular 12:40 from Acton-TC to Merehead.
..15 may 2019..
The 'Hanson' livery is now the longest lived on the entire network although that is probably set to change now that Freightliner/G&W have bought Mendip-Rail lock, stock and barrel! So here is 'good-ol-boy'-59101 'Village of Whatley' hauling '7C64' the afternoon empties from Acton-TC (15:25 off) down to Merehead. Grab your Hansons while you can, once they are gone they are gone!
..14 may 2019..
'Village of Mells' 59103 makes its way down the straight towards Fairwood Junction with '6L21' the 13:23 from Whatley to Dagenham Dock.

..13 may 2019..
Ah! my second 'Hanson in the Sun' this month so far! Here is a fairly workstained 59104 running past Pot Lane at Berkley Marsh with '7C64' the 15:26 from Acton-TC to Merehead. It is so convenient to monitor OTT and see when these evening freights depart Westbury.Plenty of time to nip out from home and get here before the train does if you respond quick enough!
..10 april 2019..
59101 passes Bapton in the Wylye Valley with '7V16' the 11:56 from Fareham-ARC back to Whatley Quarry with its emptied boxes.A lovely day to be walking around on the hills overlooking this section of line between Warminster and Salisbury.
..1 april 2019..
Hanson-59101 ambles steadily along through the Wylye Valley with its 16 empty boxes loading returnig to Whatley Quarry from Fareham-ARC (11:56 off) as '7V16'.Pictured from the hills overlooking Bapton nr Wylye.
..1 april 2019..
Wow! My idea of Heaven! A 'Hanson in the Sun' at Fairwood nr Westbury. This is 59103 with '7C77' the 12:40 from Acton-TC going down to Merehead with the afternoon empties.
..26 march 2019..
This is a fairly unusual occurrence! Hanson 59104 was employed on '6V33' the 07:27 from Wembley Euro Freight Ops Centre to Whatley Quarry instead of the usual DB-GM.Apparantly it was on its way back from Crewe after some Mtce there via Wembley and somebody had a pro-active idea to use it on this duty.Nice to see something other than just FY or Hanson bogie-hoppers on the hook of one of these machines.Seen at Pot Lane nr Frome.
..11 march 2019..
Good Ol' Boy 59102 'Village of Chantry' rolls towards Westbury with '7B12' the 11:30 from Merehead to Royal Wootton Bassett.Seen from Fairwood Foot Crossing.
..27 february 2019..
Now owned by Freightliner (Genesee & Wyoming) but still currently sporting the long serving 'Hanson' colours 59103 drags '6V18' the 11:25 from Allington-ARC over Hungerford Common going to Whatley Quarry.
..26 february 2019..
Good old 'Hanson in the Sun' 59102 hums along the B&H west of Kintbury working a rather mixed bag of wagons on '7C77' the 12:40 from Acton-TC going down to Merehead. Not so long ago this was regularly 3 portions with a wagon count invariably approaching sixty.Currently it rarely exceeds one set (20 hoppers).Today was a bonus with 24 on the hook.
..26 february 2019..
59104 is this months first decent 'Hanson in the Sun'.Apparantly it was supposed to be a Double 59/1 but a single in this light was nice enough anyway! This was '7C77' the 12:40 from Acton-TC down to Merehead.Seen on the B&H on the approach to the now long gone Bratton Station site.
..22 february 2019..
With the totally uncalled for abuse still ringing in my ears from the ignorant 'Pig-Dog' and his equally foul mouthed wife that lives next to the line here at Great Cheverell who seems to think that parking on the road 100yds from the bridge and his house is some kind of criminal offence worthy of calling the police! 59102 passes by working '6L21' the 13:23 from Whatley Quarry to Dagenham Dock-ARC.-----What an sad utter brainless numpty!!!!!!
..6 february 2019..
Hanson Number-1 'Village of Whatley' draws '7C31' the 09:28 from Theale to Whatley through Clink. This is actually now the longest lasting livery still on show in the UK.Not including all the quasi celebrity repaints that are knocking around these days obviously!
..21 november 2018..
'Hanson' 59103 hauls '6V18' the 1:25 from Allington-ARC to Whatleythrough Bratton on the B&H in the late afternoon sunlight.Note the defaced hoppers in this formation. How those scumbags get away with this vandalization night after night amazes me.RT should start using big aggressive hungary free-range guard dogs to patrol the yards in London overnight if you ask me?
..2 november 2018..
'Hanson in the Sun' (My first this month) 59104 passes Clink with '7C31' the 09:59 from Theale-ARC to Whatley Quarry.
..2 november 2018..

..27 october 2018..
Unusually an STP working ran to Royal Wootton Bassett today with additional aggregates. Here is the returning empties running as '7C67' the 10:19 away from Wootton Bassett going down to Merehead.Hanson-59103 'Village of Mells' is viewed passing Hawkeridge Junction on the approach to Westbury.
..27 october 2018..
If all fails there is always a 'Hanson in the Sun' !! Here is 59103 with a rather delayed '7C29' the 06:25 from Acton-TC to Merehead. It was held at Newbury-Racecoarse for 2 hours for some reason. Seen in a brief patch of brightness at Clink nr Frome.
..26 october 2018..
'6C76' this evening produced just a single 'Hanson'.Here is 59102 with its long train of empty hoppers bound for Whatley Quarry from Acton-TC(14:39 off). Seen at Cowleaze Lane or if you prefer Baynton farn nr Bratton.
..19 october 2018..
With the autumnal colours reddened even more by the setting sun 59103 'Village of Mells' passes Clink nr Frome with '7V07' the 12:41 from Chichester to Merehead empty boxes. It is worth noting that the 59/1 sub-class still carry their original names unlike most of the 59/0 amd 59/2 versions.Something of an achievement on todays image obsessed railways!
..4 october 2018..
This livery worn by the Class-59/1 sub-class is now the oldest carried by any trains in the UK apart from 'celeb' repaints. It still looks very smart even after approx 25 years! Of course these loco's are somewhat more pampered than your average GM. So here id 59101 'Village of Whatley' with '6C76' the 15:36 from Acton-TC bound for Whatley Quarry with a set of hopper empties.Nice to see a set of wagons that are not completely ruined by the jack-ass graffiti nonces that prowl the London freight yards after dark.Viewed at Hungerford Common in the late afternoon sunshine.
..1 october 2018..
With less than 10 minutes to go before the sun dropped over the horizon I managed to scrape this shot of 59103 'Village of Mells' at Witham Friary with '7C64' the 15:26 from Acton-TC to Merehead.
..17 september 2018..
'Good Ol Boy' 59101 runs through a now rather autumnal Clink slowing for the junction there with '6V18' the 11:25 from Allington-ARC going down to Whatley Quarry.
..14 september 2018..
'Village of Great Elm' 59104 in fairly clean condition swings through Great Cheverell on the B&H with '6C76' the 14:23 from Acton-TC going down to Merehead Quarry with a string on empty boxes. This type of wagon compared to the hoppers seems to be comparatively ignored by the rampant gaffitti artists probably because the wagon sides are not completely flat for them to daub there pointless crap on too.
..13 september 2018..
Oh-well! At least I managed my monthly 'Hanson in the Sun' if nothing else. This is 59101 with a boxes-only '7C64' the 15:26 from Acton-TC heading for Merehead.Seen in the yellowing evening sunlight at Berkley nr Frome.
..12 september 2018..
This months 'Hanson in the Sun' is 59103 'Village of Mells' runs through Berkley with '7V12' the 15:38 from Woking to Merehead.
