EuroPorte GBRf (After 01 August 2020)
A growing Concern mainly based in the South and East of the Country. This band of locomotives has by far the most diverse selection of liveries applied to them since introduction in 2002.79 loco's are in the sub-class.One however 66734 has been broken up in Sept-2013 due to an accident and the impossibility of recovering it fully intact! A further 10 were added in late 2018 when the Company purchased additional locomotives from DB.
This was an unexpected treat! 66721 'Harry Beck' the White LT-Map Loco operated by GBRf was today working '6V40' the 14:05 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury bringing a few pieces of an HOBC-Set there presumably to be forwarded to Taunton's Fairwater Yard.Viewed passing Arn Hill nr Warminster. Sadly it went straight back to Eastleigh light-engine so any chance of it tomorrow morning on '6O41' was lost!------15 September 2021-------
GBRf's 66784 'Keighley and Worth Valley Railway 50th Anniversary 1968-2018' which was formally with DB as 66081 runs up through Frome at Berkley with '6X70' hauling the 'Points & Switch Carriers' ('X' classed as an out of gauge load) as the 08:30 from Bristol-Temple Meads to Westbury via Taunton.
..18 july 2021..
GBRf's 'Forest City' 66713 is seen returning to Westbury from Lostwithiel as '6G71' the 14:03 departure.Wagons are a set of 5-HQA's and 5-JJA'a.Seen here in a short burst of welcome sunlight after a largely cloudy and dull showery day at Clink nr Frome.
..4 july 2021..
GBRf's 66713 'Forest City' with its train on 12 mixed MHA's and MPA's loaded with plain sand begins the decent into Westbury at Upton Scudamoe with '6V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury.
..23 june 2021..
Not too many shots are taken here at Blatchbridge Junction in Frome because there is quite a small window of opportunity for a reasonably lit shot here at this location. However this working passed here at just the right time. Here is GBRf's 66708 'Jayne' with '6G97' the 16:22 from Westbury going down to St Austell to drop a few rails off.Not only was the sun angle just about right but the passing of this train coincided nicely with a nice blue patch! ---16 june 2021---
GBRf's 66767 'Kings Cross PSB 1971-2021' passes the Maritime Freightliner Depot in Southampton with ''6V44' the 12:18 from Marchwood going up to Bicester-MOD.Not much cargo just a short rake of six rather rusty LWB open wagons.
..14 june 2021,,
GBRf's 66702 'Blue Lightning' t-n-t with 66774 work '6G75' the 17:10 from Westbury down to Crediton. The wagons will probably be loaded with Spoil when they arrive there. Seen on the Frome Avoiding Line at Styles Hill.
..27 may 2021..
This Cutting at Clink only ever gets sunlight for about a month each side in Mid-Summers Day. So here is 66565 with '6A60' the 08:32 from Whatley Quarry going to Oxford-Banbury Road with yet another load of Mendips finest!
..27 may 2021..
With just a flat wagon loaded with scrap track panels and a small Rail-Crane in tow Ex-Beacon Rail Swedish Import Loco 66791 passes Arn Hill as '7V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury Down-TC.----Not a good day for sunshine, this was the only shot in reasonable light out of a total of about 8 shot attempts!!!!
..6 may 2021..
A classic case of being in the wrong place at the right time!..5 miles firther west was full blue but here it was an almighty downpour in dull conditions!...So here is 66789 in classic Large-Logo colours working '6G74' from Westbury (09:25 off) down to Crediton with multiple dets of fully loaded HQA's.Unseen 66729 was om the rear-end.Pictured through the heavy rain and gloom passing Clinkj nr Frome.
..6 may 2021..
Yet another of GBRf's many liveries appeared at Westbury in the last day or so.This time it is 66791 an ex-Swedish import still wearing its Beacon Rail Blue Livery. Here seen climbing the Upton Scudamore Bank passing through Dilton Marsh Halt with '6O31' the 17:30 engineering working from Westbury to Eastleigh East Yard. The load being a long train of yellow side tipper ballast carriers.
..5 may 2021..
Well what a ball's up! The reason for coming here was to picture 66743 (The Belmond Scotsman Loco) leading the returrning '6G97' 09:00 from Crediton to Westbury. After check RTT when I got here it seemed it wasn't due until about 11:50.However it popped up barely 4 minutes behind the previous DMU about nearly 15 minutes earlier than expected.Coupled with the fact it was in almost silent freewheel mode and I was unsighted from the track being about 120 feet from the crossing I missed the damned thing-Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh well at least I had pictured it in the previous few days about 4 times.... So this is the poor consolation shot of 66719 on the rear was it went on its way towards Westbury...What a waste of time this visit turned out to be...Oh Well.
25 april 2021..
66719 leads '6G97' the 18:24 from Westbury to Credition CWR-Train.This was expeced to be 66789 the BR large-Logo GM but sadly that went off to Eastleigh the previous evening. The Belmond Scotsman loco 66743 was on the tail end as it passed Berkley Marsh heading West.
..24 april 2021..
Another Large-Logo loco passes Westbury North Junction just two days after the mega working of a pair of Large-Logo 37's.This time it is GBRf's interpretation of that livery on 66789.Here seen arriving at Westbury with '6G97' the 09:00 from Crediton via Bristol.Belmond Scotsman loco 66743 was on the other end of this now almost empty CWR-Train. ..23 april 2021..

..23 april 2021..
This working '6O31' the 17:30 from Westbury to Eastleigh East Yard was today hauled by GBRf's 66743 one of the pair of 66/7's normally dedicated to Belmond- Royal Scotsman duties north of the border. Here it is on the steepest part of the Upton Scudamore Bank climbing steadily with its load of a rake of eleven HOBc hoppers and a control wagon.
..21 april 2021..
66743 is one of the pair of GBRf locomotives normally dedicated to the Belmond -Royal Scotsman Train when it is running. However due to Covid restrictions the 2021 season for this train has yet to commence and this loco is working more mundane workings such as this one the '6V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh-East Yard to Westbury engineering working. Viewed here at Norton Bavant in the Wylye Valley. No doubt it will soon be returning to its more prestige workings quite soon.
..20 april 2021..
GBRf's nominally dedicated loco for 'Royal Scotsman' duties 66743 currently due to Covid restrictions is doing other duties.Today it worked '6O41' the 10:14 from Westbury down to Eastleigh East Yard.It ran about 30 minutes late as it had to wait for these HOBC wagons to come up from Taunton before its departure.Viewed in the Wylye Valley at Townend Farm Crossing in the actual village of Wylye. ..20 april 2021.. Wylye.
Despite being 72 minutes later than booked there was just enough light available to grab the unique liveried GBRf owned 66780 'The Cemax Express'. It had spent the day on the Barnstable Line down in Devon. Here it is returning to base as '6G71' the 15:02 from Cowley Bridge Junction to Westbury Down-TC.Pictured as it passed a very shadowy Clink/Berkley nr Frome.
..11 april 2021..
66780-Bapton.66780 'The Cemax Express' is seen hauling an MOD working '6V44' the 12:18 from Marchwood to Bicester,Apart from the ferryvan a train on empty container carriers.Pictured passing Bapton in the Wylye Valley. This colourful loco until Sept/2018 was EWS owned running as 66008. Its heritage given away by the buckeye couplings and associated operating levers on the buffer beams,
..6 april 2021..
Finally with the easing of this long drawn out 'Lockdown' I am able to (with a clear conscience) travel further afield than my local bridges to grab a few socially isolated pictures...So here is 66779 'Evening Star' with '6V41; from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury afternoon engineering Tripper. This morning this went paired with 59003 on '6O41' to Eastleigh and I fully expected the Westbury-Pet 59003 to be on this return duty. However the booked driver wasn't signed for Class-59's so 66779 returned instead. Pictured at Scratchbury Hill at Norton Bavant in the Wylye Valley. ..29 march 2021..
GBRf's Green Celebrity 66779 is again a visitor to Westbury to work the Eastleigh Tripper Circuit. Here it is on '6V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury with its very lightweight load.Seen at Arn Hill nr Warminster in a burst of weak sunlight.
..26 march 2021..
The Lockdown for me continue's...Todays tit-bit was '6G97' the 08:27 from Crediton retirning a CWT-Train to Westbury Down-TC.This was a GBRf duty today with 66786 in charge.Until March-2018 this loco was numbered 66141 in DB ownership.
,,7 february 2021..
'The Flying Dustman' 66783 visited Westbury from Eastleigh last evening on '6V41'.Sadly todays return to Eastleigh was '0O41' but a shot of this GBRf odd-ball was not to be missed. So here it is running through Warminster returning to Eastleigh.lets hope it returns this evening so another attempt tomorrow can be tried hopefully with a few wagons in tow.
..29 december 2020..
This was an unusual working.A full loaded Cable Train.Lord knows why it was coming to Westbury, perhaps just to reverse it???? Anyway it was listed as '6V40' the 14:05 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury Down Yard.Seen descending the Upton Scudamore Incline on the approach to Westbury.66712 was the loco in charge.
..7 october 2020..
The infiltration of GBRf into the Infrastructure weekend workings out of Westbury continues. Here are 66781/66712 with '6G74' the 08:30 from Bristol Kingsland Road to Westbury via Taunton passing over Fairwood Junction just a mile or so from journeys end with a load of spoil/dirty ballast for disposal.
..27 september 2020..
Yet again GBRf's 66779 'Evening Star' continue's to stand in for the regular 59003 on this working '6O41' the 10:14 from Westbury down to Eastleigh East yard engineers train.Todays nice load being a Balfour-Beatty Heavy Crane set in tow.The set-up being VTG95389KFA,BB97412KFA, DRK81611ZOA and BB87419KFA.Here seen passing Wylye at Townend Farm Crossing. ..24 september 2020..
For me this is about as good as it gets with this loco! So here is GBRf's 'Evening Star' 66779 passing the 1863 rebuild of the original 12th century Church of St Nicholas of Mira at Little Langford in the Wylye Valley. The working is the regular '6O41' 10:14 from Westbury to Eastleigh's East yard. The load today being 5-JJA's and 10 HQA's. Well worth the 50 miles round trip for just this one photograph!
..22 september 2020..
Making the most of this loco whilst it is in my local area!--Here is 66779 'Evening Star' along with Colas-70809 heading '6V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury return engineering trip working..Viewed at Warminster Station. This Spring all that Undergrowth and Buddleia Bushes in the shot were totally removed but in just 5 short months its all grown up again!!
..21 september 2020..
Working of the day but unfortunately in the worse lighting was this train '6X24' the 07:37 from Derby Lichurch Lane to Eastleigh TRSMD. It was a transfer move of the brand new 701012 coming here for proving tests.Lead loco was the GBRf Albino 66721 with 66737 on the rear with 701012 amongst a variety of barrier vehicles. The working was over 200 minutes late here due to an open door being discovered on the '701' at Woking. It had to revers back to Woking for the fault to be remedied.
..18 september 2020..
The final production Muncie-GM 66779 'Evening Star' runs past Mount Pleasant with '6V41' the 14:48 from Eastleigh East Yard to Westbury. The small load being new concrete sleepers on three bogie-flats.
..18 september 2020..
66779 'Evening Star' comes over Redbridge Junction with '6O41' the 10:14 from Westbury to Eastleigh East Depot engineers train .Pictured off the Redbridge footbridge which has a now much improved view since Network Rail removed a whole bunch of trees and overgrowth to make room for the new head-shunts for the Maritime Freightliner Depot. ..18 september 2020..
Well it had to happen eventually. The final production GM-66779 'Evening Star' finally made it to Westbury from Eastleigh. Here it is working '6O31' the 17:30 from Westbury to Eastleigh East Yard passing the prime spot for this evening working Old Dilton.Sadly its train was just a rake of empty bogie flats but good enough for me tonight.Lets hope it does '6O41' tomorrow since the forecast is full bling all day! (Yes it did and yes it was!)
..17 september 2020..
66770 was the chosen loco for the returning '6V41' 14:48 from Eastleigh East yard to Westbury instead of the expected 59003.So no complaints there. The train being mainly bogie-flats loaded with old scrap track panels going for recycling in the depot at Westbury.Seen at Mount Pleasant in Southampton.
..14 september 2020..
GBRf's 66766 approaches Southampton Central with '4M19' the 11:50 from the Western Docks going to East Midlands Gateway.Nice to these nicely liveried loco's as well as the usual Freightliner and DB types!
..14 september 2020..
GBRf's 'The Hoosier State' 66752,the first Caterpillar-Inc built GM-66 at Muncie in Indiana-USA passes Bunns Lane nr Frome with '6G73' the 12:08 from Westbury to Lostwithiel Dn Goods Loop.On the rear was another GBRf-66761.Engineering workings west from Westbury are not a very regular happening with GBRf power.A nice change from FL-Green or DB-Red!
..13 september 2020..
GBRf's 66761 'Wensleydale Railway Association 25Years 1990-2015 makes an unusual sight with an engineers trains going West from Westbury. This is '6G70' the 17:26 from Westbury going down to Truro with a set of HQA's.Viewed at Clink in the usual crap lighting we are experiencing lately.
..10 september 2020..
'6V48' is a GBRf operated working for the Government from Ludgershall-MOD to Kineton-MOD.The load was just 4 empty 'Warflats'-KFA's and a solitary VGA-van being hauled by 66762.Viewed at Hawkeridge in Westbury.
