Class 397
Really just stock for the new Trans-Pennine services due to be 'push-pulled by Class-68's to be introduced in 2019
Here is a closer look at the EMU manufactured by 'CAF' in Spain. This particular one is 397005 and is a 5-car formation.Note the flanks are coated with plastic. This is to protect the fresh paintwork from being badly scratched as this train negotiates the Portbury Branch up to Parson Street in Bristol. In many places this line is now quite simply a vegetation tunnel and with traffic on this route now at a minimum is bound to get even worse! The formation '5Q32' was hauled by 'ROG's' 37800 and is seen passing the site of the old Malago Vale carriage sidings in Bristol.
