Special Liveries
Several HST's now in private ownership have special liveries post general service.
The main reason for my short visit to Freshford in the Limpley Stoke Valley was the passing of this returning ECS '5Z43' the 12:53 from Eastleigh-Arlington to Crewe-HS.It being the HST pairing of 43047 and 43046 reliveried as a repro-Midland Pullman. This 'full length' set of nine coaches is the only full size hst-set now working in the entire country with the recent demise of the Arriva-XC fleet.

The 'Midland Pullman' HST-Set made its way from Crewe-H.S (08:45 off) to Eastleigh-Arlington as '5Z43' in readiness for a railour tomorrow from Bournemouth to Llandudno as '1Z43'. here it is seen climbing the Upton Scudamore Bank with 43046 'Geoff Drury 1930-19999' leading and 43055 on the rear of the 2+8 formation.

Just to make life interesting the endless blue skies we have experienced for the last 2 weeks decided to collapse into a misty haze just as this working '1Z13' the returning 'Blue Pullman' 16:05 from Penzance to Eastleigh was due here at Clink to pass.Pity really but it is what it is..43046 was leading with 43047 on the back end....
..13 august 2022..
The reconstituted 'Midland Pullman' ran today as '1Z12' from Eastleigh (06:00 off) all the way down to Penzance as the 'Cornish Coastal Pullma'.The new addition to their fleet 43047 leads with 43046 on the rear.Nice to see they had abandoned the idea of a yellow warning panel on the front of the Power-Cars.Not a very good idea was it? Seen at a rather shadowy Clink. As I am currently not mobile it was the best I could do!

Yet another significant Railtour passing through Frome in the abject dull conditions of late. This time it is '1Z50' the LSL operated Devonian Pullman that departed from Peterborough at 06:36 going down to Kingswear(for Dartmouth via the ferry).43046 'Geoff Drury 1930-1999' was the lead PC with 43055 on the rear.It certainly makes a fine sight compared with the sludge-green crap that usually passes this way!

Nanking Blue liveried 43046 'Geoff Drury 1930-1999 Steam Presevation and Computerised Track Recording Pioneer'/43055 powered Midland Pullman 'repro' runs up through Berkley Marsh nr Frome with the returning '1Z62' from Penzance (16:00 off) to Eastleigh. This Tour ran as 'The Cornish Coastal Pullman'

The re-incarnated Midland Blue Pullman using 43055/43046 sweeps down the Frome Avoider with '1Z60' the 06:00 from Eastleigh going down to Penzance. The train being advertised as 'The Cornish Coastal Pullman'. HST's are still the UK's best train whatever the livery!
