After the passing of the D6700/D6515 combo we left the Swanage Railway and moved to Wogret on the single line that joins this preserved line to the national network.A Railtour using the London-Transport 4-TC set was booked to depart from Swanage running as '1Z33' and going back to West Ruislip.Motive power for this was booked West Coast Rly's 33029 'Glen Loy'. Anyway hope were high for a spot of sunshine but upon arrival here at Wogret things looked pretty grim. However as the working was somewhat late and moving very slowly the sun actually crept over the scene literally 5 seconds before the shutter button was pressed. Now that was close and considering the rareness of the subject matter a complete miracle. Interestingly the formal opening of the new signalling arrangements for the Swanage Railway to integrate into the national network is in the week following the Gala.

Here is D6515 looking superb as it passes tagged onto the rear of the 16:45 from Norden going to Swanage headed by D6700.This was the only chance to picture this loco as this working was its first duty today.I know its a 'GAW' but still well worth inclusion.
..11 may 2014..
'2S21' the 16:45 from Norden to Swanage was graced by D6700 ably assisted but probably DIT D6515 tagged on the rear.It is seen approaching Corfe Castle.

Despite appearances we did miss a few of the workings due to passing clouds. This loco 55002 'KOYLI' had evaded us on both previous passes due to odd floaters. However it was finally nailed here shortly after it had departing Harmons Cross going to Norden with '2N22', the 16:00 from Swanage. As can be seen from this and the previous shot on 47292 the cloud formations could be very very variable considering these two working were only 10 minutes apart!
..11 may 2014..
47292 rounds the curve away from Corfe Castle Common heading for harmons cross about half a mile away with the 16:00 from Norden '2S19'.

Next working at this nice quiet location much to the delight of my co-photographer 'M Few' was GBRf's 73207 wearing a pretty convincing Large-Logo Livery ably assisted by 33202.It was the 15:15 from the Coast going to Norden.
..11 may 2014..
'Hotdog' 33111 c/w the LT-4 TC set runs past Herston going to Norden with the 15:00 off Swanage '1N10'.
..11 may 2014..
I did this additional 'tele' shot of 33111on the 15:00 from Swanage to Norden hauling the London-Transport 4-TC set to have a closer look at the long bogie bolster wagon parked in the sidings here at Herston. The load is actually the 70 ft main assembly from the turntable that used to be in Old Oak Common. That depot is now demolished to make way for Crossrail. One day it will be installed somewhere on the line.I am not really sure where?
..11 may 2014..
24081 gets away from the request-stop at Herston having paused briefly. This is the 14:30 from Norden. I must say the Swanage Railway is kept extreemly well with little or no clutter just lying around....unlike the National Network which in places resembles a badly run scrapyard!
..11 may 2014..
The 14:30 from Swanage to Norden passes the storage sidings at Herston. The pioneer EE type-3 D6700 was doing this duty '2N18'.
..11 may 2014..
GBRF's mainline registered (Not preserved) 73207 partnered with 33202 rounds the curve approaching journeys end in Swanage at the Victoria Avenue bridge on the A351 road into town. This working is '2S13' the 13:45 off Norden.
..11 may 2014..
National Treasure D6700 runs past Herston Halt on '2S11' the 13:00 from Norden to the Seaside.I certainly am pleased it had at least a small yellow warning panel on the nose to break up the otherwise quite bland front!
..11 may 2014..
Large-Logo 47292 runs past the storage area at Herston Halt accompanied by the LT owned mock LNER-Teak 4-TC set.It was on the 12:35 from Norden that was non-stop from Corfe castle to Swanage. It ran as '1S05'.
..11 may 2014..
The 12:15 from Norden had this superb looking Bo-Bo 24081 at its head. This loco is visiting from the Gloucester&Warwick Rly.It is viewed accelerating away heading for the coast from Harmons Cross.
..11 may 2014..
Here is the rather 'cheapo' stick-on nameplate 'Hotdog' that 33111 has been carrying for a few years. It is now looking rather flaky and indeed is beginning to peel off.
..11 may 2014..
'Bagpipe' 33111 runs into Harmons Cross with the 12:15 from Swanage going to Norden working as '2N12'. This is an almost timeless scene, all very 'southern'.However I am not too sure though if the blue loco era actually overlapped the southern-green coaching stock period.Well I like it anyway!

This locomotive was brought back from the dead over many years and is now a credit to its dedicated owners. Here is 50026 'Indomitable' in its freshly applied coat of 'Version2' of the NSE livery departing Harmons Cross on the 11:30 from Norden stopper to Swanage. It was supposed to be hauled by 50031 but this had been sidelined with a defect. I have it on good authority that 50026 never actually carried this livery having been withdrawn whilst in the 'Version 1' with a slightly different shade of blue and different style cab-end stripes. Still musn't grumble!
..11 may 2014..
This working was '1S03' the 11:05 off Norden running non-stop from Corfe to Swanage. It is the London-Transport 4-TC set c/w its sludge-brown front-end leading. Power was being supplied by 33111 pushing from the rear.Train is seen shortly after passing through Harmons Cross.
..11 may 2014..
After picturing this working, the 10:00 off Norden to Swanage at Corfe Castle there was just enough time to get ahead of it to view it departing from Harmans Cross. This move being helped by the delay built in at this station whilst tablets-etc are exchanged. So here is 33202 again creeping away from that station on the final leg to the seaside.
..11 may 2014..
'Slim-Jim' Crompton 33202 rolls over Corfe Castle Common with the 10:00 from Norden going to Swanage.Thankfully despite the threatening conditions the entire scene including the famous castle itself was fully lit.
